Accommodations and Sight Seeing

Since this is a destination race for most readers I will mention our accommodations, dinning suggestions, and tourism as well as a race report. We are staying at Hotel Vier Jahreszeiten which is just shy of a mile walk to the start line. There are some much closer hotels but since we booked late the rates were already very high. Ironman 70.3 Oceanside

PRE RACE

Race weekend started off with the typical Ironman Village and debriefing. If you are able to, I highly recommend attending the earliest athlete debriefing possible because it will be less crowded and if there is any new information, you have plenty of time to prepare. Just Another Training Run

November 1st I embarked on running a marathon for the first time. Prior to an endurance race, athletes typically taper or have a much lighter workout regimen to allow the body to rest and be at peak performance come race day.
