Year 5 of the Brian Waterbury Memorial Run is here! This year I’m finally doing the half marathon again. So far in training I’ve built up to an 11 mile training run but I’ve been splitting up my long runs into morning/evening because of the heat. I’m not sure if this is the best strategy for me because I never felt like I did a “long run” in training. (more…)
Xterra‘s inflatable SUP boards roll up into a backpack for easy transport. You no longer need a large vehicle or roof rack to hit the water. I’ve been interested in Stand Up Paddle (SUP) boarding for a few years but having a VW beetle, transportation was a concern. (more…)
Race Morning
This race is very laid back with a late morning start at 10am. It was nice getting to sleep in even while staying 45 minutes away. This race is oriented around UC San Diego’s collegiate team kick off so you can expect all the participants to be young 20 somethings and some family/friends. I’ve never felt “old” at a race before but at 26 I definitely felt old, but that’s ok! (more…)
